Sensations VS speech: Aphasia is the inability to process language. The impairment can be in inability to talk, to understand, to name objects, to write, to read, to repeat, or to do all these tasks. The lesion in the brain is usually in the dominant hemisphere. Agnosia is related to aphasia but has to do with inability to recognize sensory impulses as perceived by the senses (inability to recognize, odors, sounds).
