What leads to shooting pain in left big toe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It could be: A radiculopathy from your lower back, it could be a compression of your deep peroneal nerve. Emg/ncv is a diagnostic test that may be of value. Clinical exam is also valuable in differentiating the two. A foot doc or neurologist could be of service to you.
