Liver failure : When a patient has liver failure, it is helpful to decrease protein intake. This will help limit the build up of toxic waste products. Decreasing salt intake is also important, to help avoid fluid buildup and swelling. Your doctor may also prescribe certain vitamins. It is also necessary to avoid raw seafood and shellfish. Finally, it is necessary to avoid alcohol completely. Good luck.
