Help docs? why is it important to prepare the skin for electrode placement?

Better conduction.: the preparation doesn't have to be that great. But if there is hair/grease/ or clothes, the electrodes don't stick! Smaller amounts of oil make the electrical flow not predictable and may give wrong readings.

Better conduction: Preparing the skin prior to electrode placement for an electrocardiogram is important so that the electrode has the best contact with the skin as possible. If there are oils or hair on the skin it can cause the electrodes to come off or lose contact, ruining the electrocardiogram.
