Can you tell me what occurs to a child if they do not get enough sleep?

Growth, learning: One of the main things is growth problems - growth hormone surges which occur during sleep cannot occur properly if child sleep deprived. The growth hormone deficiency affects EVERY CELL in the body. Also, with lack of sleep comes lack of attention and focus, which leads to learning problems - doesn't matter if they are two or sixteen. Moods can also be affected by lack of adequate sleep.
