Chlamydia: Chlamydia complications in women can include pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, ectopic pregnancy. Chronic pelvic pain. Men may develop epididymitis ; rarely infertility. Reiter's syndrome can occur (arthritis ; inflammation of eye ; urethra w skin lesions). Untreated chlamydia of the mother can be passed to a newborn during delivery. Infants can develop neonatal conjunctivitis ; pneumonia.
