It depends on where: Stage IV means her cancer has spread to other parts of her body. If she has a single tumor in one lung, it's possible that could be removed surgically. But if she has many tumors in different places, she will need treatment with chemotherapy. And in that case, there is no cure. The goal is to keep her feeling good for as long as possible.
