Symptoms and exam: Symptoms of carpal tunnel tunnel syndrome are typically numbness to the thumb, index and middle finger. You may also have pain and weakness in the hand. Symptoms are often worse at night and with activity such as driving or talking on the phone. Patients may have some or all of these symptoms. An evaluation by a doctor can determine if you are suspected of cts and this can be confirmed with tests.
