Similar mechanism...: That is, swelling of the tissues around tendons, also causes trigger fingers and dequervain's tenosynovitis. Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by compression of a peripheral nerve (median) and other nerves in the extremities can be compressed at a variety of sites, causing, for example, radial tunnel syndrome (radial), cubital tunnel syndrome (ulnar), and post. Tibial (tarsal tunnel.).
