A member asked:

I recently visited the eye doctor for a check up, and i over heard them saying i have keratoconus, is this condition serious, if so, how serious is it?

Varies: I can't imagine that your eye doctor would not have told you directly of this instead of you 'overhearing' it. Keratoconus is a stretching forward of the cornea (the window at the front of the eye), thinning the tissue and distorting the vision. In advanced cases the cornea can break down. It you have this, you should be being followed by a corneal specialist ophthalmologist.
