Group B Strep: You have a carriage stage of group b strep which can under rare circumstances produces symptomatic disease. See the article in infect dis obstet gynecol. 1999; 7: 206–209. The probability is that you have something other than the strep causing your irritation, but the only way to find out is to be seen and examined.

Common finding: GBS is a periodic inhabitant of the intestine and in women, an easy contaminant of the genitals.Since GBS can cause severe illness in newborns, surveillance data is available and as many as 1/3 of women carry it at any point, off and on, during pregnancy. Im not aware of non-pregnant data but assume it would be similar.As previously stated, it may or may not be the cause of your problem.
