If my pars fracture is 7 months old but the bony edges are close to each other does that mean there is a good chance to heal? have been misdiagnosed.

Not really: I think you have a chance to heal but not a sure thing. Also your pars defect may has been there awhile and may have been aggravated by your accident 7 months ago. Pars defects usually start when you are very young.. I guess it is possible to start a pars defect seven months ago but then it is very hard to detect on xray or MRI for a year or two.
