Odd question but yes: A third degree burn is a full thickness burn where the entire layer of skin is destroyed. This means that healing requires ingrowth of skin from the edges of the burn. It would be usual for a 3rd degree burn to occur in the ear canal. The risk of any 3rd degree burn is that of infection under the dead skin. Given the proximity to the brain and vessels in the head, infection could be fatal.
