A member asked:

What does high urine ph 7.5-8.5 that fluctuates a lot mean? is it bc i drink a lot of water or systemic alkadosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alkalotic urine: Why are you so preoccupied with the ph of your urine? It seems that you are having repeated urine analyses to assess your urine's ph. Water intake does not, per se, make your urine alkalotic. Causes of an alkalotic urine are: urinary tract obstruction, pyloric obstruction, salicylate intoxication, renal tubular acidosis, chronic renal failure and respiratory failure. Do you have one of these?
