Yellow urine: Dark yellow is not as bad as dark brown, etc. Dark yellow often signifies your urine is simply concentrated. Certainly with dehydration, your urine will get more concentrated and darker too, so keep drinking plenty of fluids. At times early uti's may be dark, but without any other symptoms i would not worry. If concerned, get eval with a urine dip and your fears will be alleviated. Best wishes.

Many reasons: Could be dark yellow for a number of reasons- meds, supplements, foods or drinks that have been ingested, dehydration even when drinking a lot, illness, infection etc. If there is doubt, see a doctor who can do a thorough history, exam and urine tests.

Just Wait: Was your urine lighter recently? If your urine is dark due to dehydration then, despite drinking lots of fluids it may remain for a few days until redistribution of fluids occurs. If it's dark because of the presence of something that's not supposed to be there such as blood then, that will not appreciably clear without fixing the problem. If due to medication then, same thing.

See answer: Assuming the absence of any oral medications, supplements, pigmented foods, blood in the urine, and certain systemic diseases (e.g. Liver and kidney disease) that potentially might effect the color of the urine, in general, the color of the urine is a reflection of the degree of hydration of the body and dehydration remains the most common cause of dark-colored urine.
