Specializes in Family Medicine

Hard work: Having a strong background and general knowledge of sciences and biology in general will certainly help when studying medicine, however, if you are a hard worker and can study and learn well with dedication and a strong desire to excel, you may do just as well as the person who has the science background. An example would be a person who majored in undergrad english, but ended up in med school.

A/W Dr. Munshower.: A fellow medical student was a genius with an iq the high 170's. He flunked gross anatomy and had to repeat it in summer school. Why? Because he seldom studied ; often didn't show up to class. He got a high "a" when he retook it in summer school. Why? Because he applied himself. A lot of what it takes to make it through med school ; to be doctor is willingness to work really hard ; apply yourself.
