Yes: Avoid spicy foods, really hot foods, alcohol and smoking...Anything that can cause irritation for several days. If the condition does not improve, see your dentist or an oral surgeon for an examination.

Yes: Give it a few days to heal. If there is no improvement in a week than i would see a dentist for an evaluation.
