A member asked:

I have hemorrhoids that protrude when passing a bowel movement. lately is has been painful when doing so. i notice traces of blood. what can i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Go to MD: There are medicines that can be given. If the hemorrhoid is really as bad as you explained and it is thromboses, surgical management (hemorrhoidectomy) may be necessary to avoid rectal prolapse which can cause drying and necrosis and infection of the rectal mucosa that protrudes out.
