A member asked:

What are the long-term complications of an untreated upper respiratory infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chronic changes: One can see chronicity of infection or non-infectious complications to almost any area in the upper respiratory tract. The problem is that many, if not most, of these infections are not treatable by elimination of the pathogen because they are viral and can only be managed symptomatically.
