Common cold ; defect: Studies have not shown that the common cold causes birth defects. It is good that you did not take any medications , as some common medications have been associated with birth defects.

No: The common cold is a localized process i your upper airway.It does not generate a blood phase that would send the virus to baby through your placenta. Similar conditions like strep throat or a UTI that are localized are also no risk. It is the blood borne issues like measles that cause problems.
