Dr. Alvin Lin answered

Change society: Society values body image & athletic prowess over mental & artistic capability. Until society changes its priorities, we will continue to struggle in raising our children to value their brain over their brawn. But for those of us w/children, we should make every attempt to praise their mental & artistic achievements and encourage more of the same but not at the expense of obesity. Balance is key!

Encourage, Teach: "encourage girls to develop their skills and interests in other areas. Educate them on the manipulations of the advertising industry. Teach them to love themselves and encourage a focus on internal standards of beauty.” source: psychologist dr.
