Body can trick you: False pregnancy, also known as pseudocyesis. Appearance of symptoms ; signs of pregnancy when subject isn't in fact pregnant. Can be entirely psychological, however extreme anxiety is thought sometimes to affect endocrine glands to produce hormonal changes similar to a true pregnancy. Can be weight gain, abdominal swelling, breast tenderness ; even sensation of fetal movements in absence of fetus.
