Eye infection & possible yeast on newborn, what to do?

See your doctor: If you are concerned that your baby has a yeast infection or an eye infection, you should see your doctor. They can more properly evaluate your baby and prescribe appropriate medications. Infections in this age can be serious, and so should be checked out by a professional.

Newborn infections: can progress very rapidly and be very dangerous. Any symptom of infection, especially rectal temperature of 100.4 or higher, requires emergent evaluation by your pediatrician or urgent care facility. Fungal diaper rashes and thrush are common in newborns, are not life threatening, but do require treatment with topical and/or oral antifungal medications.

See pediatrician: If the eyes of your newborn are red and have discharge or possible yeast, this will need treatment. You should take your infant to your pediatrician and have this diagnosed and treated if it needs it.
