Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) alternative: If Adderall is a problem for you, there are other options. For ADD/ADHD, the following are approved medications: Concerta ER, Strattera, Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine). Concerta ER is a long acting methylphenidate/Ritalin. ADHD meds: There are choices besides stimulants for ADHD. One is Straterra, which has fewer sexual side effects than stimulants. I like the medication buproprion, although it's use in ADHD is an "off label" use. I have used bupropion successfully hundreds of times. There are also the Tricyclics. See a Board Certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. We're all certified in Adult Psychiatry as well. Good luck
