A member asked:

How bad really are white rice.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Brown rice better: High carbohydrate intake is associated with multiple medical problems - obesity, metabolic syndrome, elevated blood glucose levels, etc it's better to reduce the intake of white starches (white rice, potatoes, white bread) as they cause blood levels of glucose to rise faster and probably higher - this results in increased Insulin levels which can lead to impaired glucose tolerance and type 2 dm.
