A member asked:

Why is my amebiosis being treated with paramomycin first, and tinizadole second? i always thought it was the other way around- but my doctor said this

Amoebiasis: Not sure that the sequence of therapy really matters, but theoretically if tinidazole does not clear the intestinal infection it could spread back to the body. Two different drugs may be needed because the imidazoles are so well absorbed they may not reach the distal colon in effective concentrations. This can be conquered using higher doses. Good question.
