Folic Acid: The recommended daily intake of Folic Acid for all women of childbearing age is at least 400mcg. During pregnancy, the recommended dose jumps to 600mcg to 800mcg per day. Of course, some women's needs are different. If you have a family history of neural-tube defects, you should probably get 4, 000mcg of Folic Acid per day. Talk with your doctor about which pre-natal vitamin is right for you.
