See a dermatologist: Most of the time the gp will be wrong with this diagnosis. Then the fungus treatment fails to help. "ring worm" is not a medical term but usually refers to tinea corporis. This is a fungus transmitted from another person or from an animal, usually a kitten. Best treatment is often terbinafine orally. But a skin specialist may recognize something else, followed by better treatment.
