Depends....: If the bacteria causing the strep throat and bronchitis are sensitive to the azithromycin, then it will treat both. But, because of the bronchiectasis, you may have some lung bacteria that may not be sensitive to azithromycin. So, if the green sputum persists, or if your symptoms worsen, see your doctor again. You may need a sputum culture to find out what bacteria are causing the bronchitis!
