You can request them: From your doctor. However, the insurance may reject requests unless there's a specific reason for it because the wafers even in the generic form cost four times the amount that the tablets do. Your doctor would therefore have to justify the extra expense to the insurance company to get it preauthorized. Good luck!

Yes : You can ask, but the pharmacist will likely require a new prescription by md (written, faxed, or phone order) indicating Klonopin wafers 0.5 mg assuming md desires the same strength as the tablet. If you desire and if the md does not indicate "do not substitute", the pharmacist has the ability to substitute the generic (clonazepam) without requiring an ok by the prescribing md which may be cheaper.
