Bruises: Bruises are blood clots. They age over time and turn different colors. Doctor's often can look at the color of a bruise to tell if the aging is normal or abnormal. Blood clots in tissue swell and can be painful. The risk here is infection. If the tissue is increasingly hot, more swollen or red then you may have a secondary complication of the bruise. But, yellow one week out sounds normal.
