Not usually: Forming a corpus luteum cyst is a normal part of the cycle. Sometimes women hold onto these cysts or they become fluid or blood filled and they cause cramping when they rupture. Body ususally absobs the fluid and blood and the ovary heals. If this is recurrent, see a provider and get checked out for endometriosis.
