Menstrual changes: Topamax (topiramate) is prescribed for a variety of pain disorders including the prophylaxis of migraine headache. Unwanted effects are:dizziness, memory problems, weight loss, sudden vision changes and menstrual changes. Topamax (topiramate) may decrease the effectiveness of hormonal birth control pills. Maybe: It is listed as a side effect in the package insert; however, I have never seen it in a patient, so possibly? I still would not risk it, take a pregnancy test.
