Transmitting UTI's: During sex is really unlikely but i suppose it could happen but wouldn't be able to explain it. Men simply don't get uti's from sex due to the length of their urethra. Women get it all the time due to their short urethra. A UTI won't be transmitted from the man to the woman but a condition could be created during sex that predisposed the woman to getting a uti.

Unclear: A woman can transmit various sexually transmitted diseases to a man, but these don't end up as infections in his urinary bladder but in his genitalia and thus would not be the usual uti's. A man with the usual uti(in his urine only) and no std , does not transmit that infection to the woman's urine during sex. In summary the usual uti's are not contagious.
