A member asked:

I have severe bilateral lower leg muscle spasms due to synovial cysts at l5s1 causing neuroforaminal stenosis.is surgery an option?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: If your cysts are responsible for "nerve pain", and are associated with nerve root distribution numbness, weakness, and/or muscle atrophy, there may be a good rationale for a surgical approach. These days, arthroscopic and less invasive techniques are present. Suggest you visit a neurosurgeon and discuss.
