Rule of thumb: Ground yourself. Literally sit up straight, place both feet on the ground, remind yourself where you are, what day it is. Call or speak to a friend or family member to help bring you back to reality. In addition, find a therapist and start talking about these lapses of connection to reality and figure out what is leading to these episodes.
