Please see your doc.: I rec that you call your doctor to discuss the details. May be ok, but there are many serious cond to consider. With more info your doc can help you work through the possible causes. Call immediately if you have shortness of breath, are coughing up any blood, or have risk factors for blood clots (smoker, taking bc, hx of clot, fam hx of clots, etc). Also consider pna, ptx, trauma, or card cause.

If pain is getting -: Worse then you should see your pcp for an examination, chest xrays, labs, maybe a ct scan, depending on what the pcp finds. Possibilities include rib fx, infection, pul embolus, strained muscles; as all these result in increasing pain with deep breathing. See him sooner than later, to avoid any serious problems with delaying to see him.
