Mononucleosis: Can be easily tested for. It can make you lethargic. Was your tonsil dripping pus when you were medically evaluated? I would just wonder about possibility of peritonsilar abscess if it is one tonsil ; it is exuding pus in this manner. If condition worsened or there is any problem breathing (at all) would get emergency evaluation.
