No: Selenium-containing dandruff shampoo helps treat a mild fungus on the skin, called tinea versicolor. The shampoo doesn't get rid of ringworm on the scalp, which is a different type of tinea infection, called tinea capitis. A dermatologist or a primary care doctor can help with ringworm of the scalp.
