Cover up after peel: Hi, depending on the extent of your peel you should wait 7-14 days prior to applying cover make-up. I also recommend only using makeup deigned for post-op coverage so that you don't irritate the skin.

At the right time: With superficial peels, the level of injury is confined to the top layers of the skin and makeup can be applied shortly afterwards. Medium and deep chemical peels work into the dermis. They heal more slowly during which time makeup is usually not recommended. After the skin is healed most doctors recommend an inert mineral based makeup that has anti-inflammatory properties and provides natural spf.
