Yes: Transient ischemic attacks (TIA) is not really a stroke it is transient neurological symptoms lasting less than 24 hours, lately diffusion MRI of the brain has shown that even in TIA structural lesions are sometimes seen at any rate these symptoms have to be taken very seriously! see a neurologist.

A 32-year-old member asked:
How would minor TIA be diagnosed after a major stroke?

Dr. Patrick Roth answered
Neurosurgery 34 years experience
New transient change: A new transient neurologic event either on the same side or the contralateral side. This could be weakness, numbness, or a visual change. The diagnosis of a TIA would require that the symptoms were transient and the subsequent MRI showed nothing new. A cause for the TIA such as carotid disease or atrial fibrillation is also helpful in making the diagnosis.

Call 911: Go to the emergency room and be evaluated for clot busting drugs. If you are not having a stroke, they should be able to let you know what is happening to you.
