A member asked:

When hypothyroid, what will a liver blood test be looking for? also, my tpoab were 16, can hasimoto's be ruled out?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hashimotos possible: Despite negative tpo ab, hashimoto's thyroiditis is still the most common cause for hypothyroidism. Liver tests can be abnormal when thyroid levels are extremely low, but are usually normal with mild hypothyroidism, or after treatment with thyroid hormone.
