Not normal: Rectal or anal bleeding is never normal. The most common reason for rectal or anal bleeding is hemorrhoids. It would be reasonable to use one of the over the counter hemorrhoid medications - if that does not stop the bleeding then the next step is to see a doctor for an evaluation.
