At your age: I would ask your doctor for a referral to either an ENT or gastroenterologist for either direct laryngoscopy or upper endoscopy to be certain there is not a visible abnormality. Especially if you are or have been a smoker.

Throat: Do you have a fever? If this is associated with fever or if difficulty opening or closing your mouth get this checked. Possibility of tonsillitis or abscess. You can get swelling or dysfunction of salivary glands which are in and around the throat, thyroid also possible. You have gerd and this can cause a "feeling" of discomfort in the throat at time.
