No pressure, no sore: That sounds simple, but i know that it is not. Avoidance of pressure sores requires constant vigilance on the part of caregivers for patients with spinal cord injuries or neurological disorders. A good rule of thumb is to avoid pressure on any one skin area for more than two hours. It takes constant good "nursing" care, but pressure sores are not inevitable. Good luck!

Bedsores: Bedsores are due to pressure over bony prominences. The best way to prevent bedsores, once they occur, is to keep pressure of these areas. That means that you need to constantly move the person into different positions to relieve the pressure. Seeking professional help like with a wound center is a great option since depending on the depth, stage and location of the uler, your options will differ.
