Well controlled: Pupillometry is a laboratory measurement under very controlled conditions of medication, lighting, etc. To measure the changes in pupillary dilation and contraction in response to physical, mental and pharmacologic changes. It has no direct clinical application but is a useful physioloigcal and pharmacological tool.
