Cause: There are some primary bone marrow problems that can raise WBC (eg, leukemias like cll) or platelets (pv, et). Far more likely is an inflammatory reaction such as infection causing an increase in "acute phase reactants". More context is needed. Since someone ordered the complete blood count (CBC) for a reason, what was that reason, and what was that physicians interpretation?
