Allergist can help: Hives can be challenging when it comes to determining a trigger, especially if the hives have gone on for > 6 weeks (chronic hives). An allergist or dermatologist can assist in determining the hives. Generally, only a few tests are needed; even then, frequently the "cause" may remain unsolved, but don't miss an opportunity to find the solution.
