A member asked:

Please help? is the smoke on peoples clothes just as bad as second hand smoke and what about visiting homes of smokers?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It's not generally: As bad, except perhaps in young children, especially if they are just wearing a diaper and have a lot of exposed skin. The problems of smoke on walls, furniture and clothing has only recently been described, and there aren't as many studies yet, so we do not have final answers. But it is certainly not as bad for most people as breathing in the side-stream and leftover smoke of people smoking.
