Dvt: If we are talking about a venous clot the its also termed a dvt. These can be dangerous because they can trave to the lung and cause a pulmonary embolis. These are lfethreatening.Causes od DVT are trauma, hypercoagulopathy, cancers, etc. Many pts are bed ridden. They may be smokers or on birth controll.

Very: Blood clot in deep veins ( DVT ) is very dangerous, it is a loaded shot gun, any movement will shoot into lung., causing pulmonary embolism.

Thank you for comment .All health care personal are working very hard to prevent it by early detection & treatment as mentioned by DR Weinberger. PE is a serious disease 100,000 Americans die each yr,8.96% of surgical discharges are prone to get it. in sudden deaths 25 % is due to PE , awareness is very important
